Lake Retreat Field Trip
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Back in April, we sent you a letter with information regarding Lake Retreat Field Trip for Eighth Graders. It is now time to register your child for Lake Retreat. The field trip will take place during the normal school day on June 11.
There are three steps that need to be completed by Wednesday, June 5:
1. Register here for the field trip.
2. Sign waiver. Please read, print & sign, and return the "Activity & Health Waiver - Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnification Agreement" to your student's Advisory teacher.
3. Pay for field trip here. The cost for the field trip is $35.
Students will need a sack lunch. Bring a sack lunch from home OR you may order a sack lunch from CKMS (must be selected by June 1 in class).
All students who contribute positively to the learning environment at CKMS will celebrate the end of the Eighth-grade academic year at Lake Retreat. Lake Retreat is a time for students and staff to celebrate the end of an academic year as well as enjoy social time with peers. It is our desire that all students attend this much looked forward to event. However, certain behaviors and conditions may exclude a student from attendance.
These include but are not limited to:
- Documented cases of major behavior infractions, such as unsafe behavior, disruptive conduct, harassment, intimidation and bullying.
- In or out of School Suspension, at any time during the academic year.
- Violation of behavior contracts (existing or new) that occur between April 15, 2024 and June 11, 2024.
- Behavior - Accumulation of three or more major incident slips from April 15, 2024 to June 11, 2024 will be grounds for exclusion from Lake Retreat. An incident slip is issued when a student has been warned and continues to demonstrate disruptive behavior, disrespectful behavior, frequent tardiness, defiance or noncompliance with expectations, or any other discipline issue at school or on transportation.
- Grades: Students may not have three or more failing grades (F's) as of Friday, June 7, 2024 in order to be eligible to attend.
- Further, students are expected to display exemplary behavior on the bus to/from the activity as well as while we are at the Lake Retreat facility. Parents will be contacted to pick up any student who displays inappropriate behavior.
Students will have access to the lake including boats, water toys, sports courts, a game room, paintball and other activities. There will be something for everyone! It will be a fun day to hang out with their CKMS friends before heading to high school.
Please reach out to Mrs. Trifunovic or Mrs. Larson if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Michelle Trifunovic
