8th Grade Spanish 1 Elective

Spanish flag: Earn a Spanish high school credit in 8th grade

Are you considering studying Spanish in high school?

Students have the opportunity to earn a Spanish high school credit in 8th grade by taking Spanish 1 as a year-long elective.

In terms of college admission, colleges want to see at least two years of the same world language. We recommend taking three years if you plan on attending a 4-year college.

Current 7th grade students can apply for 8th grade Spanish in the 2023-24 school year by delivering the form below to the office by March 22, 2023.

If there are more students interested in Spanish 1 than there are seats available, a lottery will be conducted for students that submit this form.

8th Grade Spanish 1 Elective Course Request Form

While every effort will be made to schedule preferred electives, final scheduling could be impacted by space, course availability, and the flexibility of students' schedules.

Students and families will be notified if they are approved for the Spanish 1 course request before the end of the school year.
